Texas Businesses Now Eligible for SBA Loans

Dear neighbor,

As Texans, we know that small businesses are the backbone of our local economies. As many of you are sorting through news updates about COVID-19, I want to ensure you have access to information that will directly impact local businesses that keep our communities strong.

Today, Texas officially qualified to receive financial assistance through the Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loans. If you're a small business that has been economically impacted by COVID-19, apply online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/. SBA provides low-interest, long-term disaster loans to businesses of all sizes and private non-profits.

Access to the SBA loans is a critical step for Texas businesses to respond to the changes we are experiencing due to COVID-19, and is just one of the many steps Congress has taken to support our country. Last week, I supported H.R. 6201, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which provides resources for businesses that are currently navigating the growing need for paid family and medical leave. This legislation ensures that American workers can take paid sick or family leave, while also providing free diagnostic testing for COVID-19. As Congress continues to deliberate a third response package, please keep me updated in the comment box to the right of this email on how this virus is impacting your family or business. With your feedback, we can address these needs through legislative action.

Remember, I have launched a Coronavirus resource page on my website with information about legislative action Congress is taking, links to school districts for their operating statuses, assistance from the Small Business Administration and CDC guidelines.

Be sure to follow my FacebookTwitter, and Instagram accounts for additional updates.

If you have a comment or concern let me know here.

It is an honor and privilege to represent you and Texas in the United States House of Representatives.

Sincerely,

John R. Carter
