Leadership Killeen Class of 2026 Completes Health Care Day

The Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Killeen Class of 2026 completed its Health Care and Quality of Life Day on Wednesday, April 15, gaining firsthand insight into the region’s health care systems, community services, and essential quality-of-life resources.

The full-day program began at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Texas, where participants were welcomed by Chief Executive Officer Tiana Quick and toured the facility. The visit highlighted youth development programs and the critical role the organization plays in supporting children and families across the region.

The class then visited SignatureCare Emergency Center for a tour and presentation led by Marketing Assistant Ivanna Vargaas, offering participants a closer look at emergency medical services and the role urgent care providers play in the local health care landscape. Following the visit, the group gathered for lunch at Rosa’s Café.

In the afternoon, participants toured Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, where they heard from CEO/CNO Mandy Shaiffer about hospital operations and patient care services. The group then visited ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital, where Chief Executive Officer Byron Landor provided insight into rehabilitation services and patient recovery care.

The day concluded with additional programming featuring a leadership lesson from Mark Price, along with remarks from Freedom Urgent Care representatives. Participants closed the experience with group project work and final activities designed to reinforce key leadership lessons from the day.

Leadership Killeen is a professional development program designed to cultivate informed, engaged community leaders through immersive experiences with organizations that shape the Killeen area. Through site visits, presentations, and hands-on learning, participants gain a deeper understanding of the systems, services, and partnerships that support regional growth and quality of life.
