Scott Connell, the President and CEO of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, has announced his resignation, the Chamber has announced.

Scott Connell, the president of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and the Killeen Economic Development Corporation is moving on. Todd Fox, board chair of the chamber and a member of the corporation’s Board of Directors, announced the departure of Connell at the beginning of a luncheon held by the chamber Thursday.

The Killeen Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors gathered Thursday to discuss financial reports, make an order of business regarding banking and transfer a lease. The meeting was held at 8 a.m. at the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce.

In 2024, the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce continued to serve the community with care and determination to bring the community together with the common objective to grow and expand opportunities for greater prosperity.

The top Army officer at Fort Cavazos took the time to speak to various community leaders Tuesday at Central Texas College’s Anderson Campus Center.

Tommy’s Express Car Wash held a grand opening for a new wash at 2608 Trimmier Road at noon. The roughly two dozen in attendance participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by presentations and had the opportunity to learn more about the business, network and enjoy some snacks.

Scott Connell, president of the Killeen Economic Development Corporation, took the podium in front of the Killeen City Council Tuesday to talk about some of the corporation’s recent projects and provide a quarterly update. He forecasted a “very busy” 2025 for the corporation following recent slow downs in development due to the holiday season and uncertainty surrounding the United States presidential election.

A new project at the Killeen Business Park is scheduled to begin construction later this month.

Dongjin Semichem Texas, Inc., a manufacturer of semiconductor, display and energy materials, plans to expand its operations in Killeen, Texas. The more than $110 million project is expected to create 24 jobs.

The Killeen Economic Development Corporation Board met for the first time in 2025 on Thursday, and discussed a new setup for marketing properties in Killeen.
