Flavors of Central Texas - Iron Gauntlet {Straight from the Chair}
Tonight’s adventures took your intrepid explorer, The Colonel, and Jeff Munoz, Linnemann Realty Director of Sustainment Operations, to The Iron Gauntlet, a new addition to the beverage landscape here in Killeen.
The Iron Gauntlet is a Brauhaus located at 400 Cheyenne, over by the Workforce building on Jasper, and what a great place this is to stop by and have a brew. But there’s more! They have games to play, they bring in live music at times, and will also host food trucks – just check out their website (or social media) for details on the events they host and the good times they have.
Lara, the Owner, was there along with her trusty helper Malia. They weren’t the first to greet us though, as we were sized up by the two big dogs roaming freely through the expansive, industrial structure. Once the dogs realized we weren’t a threat we were allowed to proceed to the bar. Lara and Malia know all things beer-related and are a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Lara is also an Army Veteran, so when you enjoy your beer here you’re supporting a Veteran-owned, female-owned business. Yes, you get points for that.
The Colonel and I started with the Radio Czech, a Czech Pilsen, and Jeff opted for the Molly Pitcher, an Irish Red. The beers are cold, the pours are deep, and the atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a cold one after yet another tough day at the office. They were even playing The Matrix on the big screen. So basically, this is about as close to heaven as you can get without dying.
