Representative Brad Buckley was elected into the Texas House of Representatives in November of 2018. He proudly represents House District 54, which includes part of Bell County and all of Lampasas County in Central Texas. He serves on the House Appropriations committee, the Agriculture and Livestock committee, and the Local and Consent Calendars committee. At the end of the 86th Legislative Session, Representative Buckley was honored as the Texas House Republican Caucus’s “Freshman of the Year,” highlighting his character, leadership, work with colleagues, and his passionate representation of his constituents.
Born, raised, and educated in Killeen, Brad has deep roots in our Central Texas communities. He graduated from Ellison High School where he played football in the stadium named for his grandfather, Leo Buckley.
Brad's family has had a lifetime commitment to public education. His grandmother, Annie Roe Buckley, and his mother, Lolly Buckley, both served to educate countless students in Killeen ISD for more than 80 years combined. Brad's wife, Susan is currently the Executive Director for Secordary Schools in Killeen and has been a classroom teacher and administrator in Killeen ISD for 25 years.

Brad is a graduate of Texas A&M University, receiving his Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1989 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. As a veterinarian, Brad is a partner in Killeen Veterinary Clinic, Town and Country Veterinary Medical Center, and Stagecoach Pet Hospital. His proudest professional accomplishment is the trust his many friends and clients have placed in him over the years by allowing him to care for their pets.
Brad is a servant leader with a community focus. He has served on the Killeen ISD Board of Trustees, as Chairman of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, as a board member of Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the 14 Forward Economic Development Campaign for the greater Fort Hood area.
Brad is passionate about horses, livestock, and the rural lifestyle. He raises, shows, and trains cutting horses on his ranch in Salado. He is a Regional Director for the National Cutting Horse Association.
