HISTORY
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home was founded by Bill Crawford and Delbert Bowers in 1972. Both retired from the U.S. military, they felt a need for a strong military-related funeral home in the community. Bill was CSM of the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood. Delbert was a warrant officer in charge of the Officers Club. SEE MORE
DELBERT BOWERS, COMMUNITY LEADER
Besides being a successful business leader, Delbert was also very dedicated to many civic organizations. He was a life member of VFW Post 3892 in Harker Heights, DAV Post 147 in Killeen and American Legion Post 223 in Killeen. He was involved in the Killeen Evening Lions Club, Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce and Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge of Falls City, Nebraska, for more than 65 years. Delbert died in December 2016 at the age 87.
